Eoin O'Sullivan

founder, MANAGING DIRECTOR AND PSYCHOTHERAPIST

ACCREDITED MEMBER OF IAHIP AND REGISTRANT WITH ICP

My qualification is in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, this means that I am trained as both a counsellor and a psychotherapist. The course I chose, validated by U.C.C. is recognised as meeting the standards of all major professional psychotherapy organisations in Ireland as well as the European Association of PsychotherapyHaving an integrative approach means that I use theory and skills from a number of different therapeutic schools. I have always been interested in people, what motivates them and how their life experiences shape them. Over fifteen years ago I came to a point in my own process when I wanted to understand, more fully, my patterns of behaviour and how my past life experience was shaping how I behaved in the present. This is how my journey into psychotherapy began.

As I explored my own history, with the help of a therapist, I was able to understand and let go of old unconscious patterns that no longer served me. I caught glimpses of a place from where I could make conscious decisions about my life, that took my thoughts and feelings into consideration, that engaged with all the different aspects of  my-self, my centre.

My professional work is aimed towards providing a safe non-judgmental setting in which my clients can begin, or continue, their own journey towards their secure centre.

As a qualified therapist, I am not here to fix you. My core belief is that there is nothing wrong with people, although many often feel otherwise.

My philosophy comes from exploring what actually happened in a person’s life that after years of pain and hurt they feel broken. I want to hear your story, how does it feel to be you, in your own words.

I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy and work from the Mind, Body and Soul perspective. I use an integrative approach, so how I will work with you is tailored to your uniqueness and needs at this particular time in your life.

Counselling is a space where I want clients to feel safe and supported, where they can share their thoughts and feelings, at their own pace, without fear of being judged. I believe that deep down people know the answers they’re seeking, and I can help to uncover them from layers of trauma, conditioning and stuck patterns, so they can embark on their healing journey.

I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy. My approach is grounded in empathy and compassion, creating a safe and supportive space for you to work through the issues that matter most without any judgment.

For me, the foundation of any meaningful change is a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. When people feel genuinely heard, respected, and safe, healing can begin. I’m here to guide and support that inner journey — helping you uncover your strengths, grow through challenges, and move forward with confidence.

I have experience supporting clients through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, low self-esteem, childhood difficulties, relationship issues, and developing healthier coping strategies. While my core approach is person-centred, I also integrate elements of Gestalt and CBT, tailoring each session to meet the individual needs of the client.

Support is available both in person and online, creating a space that fits comfortably around your needs. Whether you’re looking for short-term support or feel ready to explore things more deeply, you’re welcome just as you are.

As a Holistic Integrative Therapist at Peace Inside, I bring lived empathy to our work together. I believe therapy is a courageous journey of discovery where there is room for the full human experience: the pain and frustration of feeling stuck, the raw anger that deserves a voice, and the unexpected laughter that comes with self-awareness.

Because your story is unique, I move beyond “one size fits all” solutions. From my roots in South Africa to my Honors Degree in Ireland, I’ve learned to blend traditional talk therapy with creative and experiential tools. We might use Person-Centered and Gestalt techniques to connect in the “here-and-now,” Art Therapy when words aren’t enough, or CBT and Psycho-education to give you practical “why” behind your experiences.

My goal is to provide a non-judgmental space where every part of you is welcome, allowing you to move from simply surviving to truly thriving.

As a holistic and integrative psychotherapist, I work with the whole person –  mind, body, emotions, and spirit – believing in the innate capacity we all have to grow toward health and wholeness.

I’ve had the privilege of witnessing people move closer to their authentic selves through a process that can hold both tears and laughter, frustration and joy. As a humanistic therapist, the relationship is at the heart of my work. My aim is to offer a space grounded in empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard, where the genuine meeting of two people becomes therapeutic in itself.

My own experience of therapy helped me through crisis and opened a journey of self-discovery and agency, the power to choose what comes next. Sport is an important part of my life; it connects us to strength, resilience, and body awareness. I also understand the unique challenges athletes face and how therapy can support them.

Whatever therapy may mean for you, I hope to meet you along the way.

We live in very challenging times and sometimes need somewhere to talk, and someone to listen and care. To be heard can be truly transformational and healing for someone, so providing a non-judgmental, safe space is imperative for the work.

I aim to provide support and care through your journey. I work holistically and I am a firm believer that the Body keeps the score. If we suppress how we truly feel, it can manifest in other ways in the body. Ideally, we want to operate from a centered place of truth, compassion and awareness, and I’m here to help you with that.

Healing doesn’t always look dramatic — sometimes, it’s simply feeling a little more like yourself again. And even the smallest steps forward are still progress.

My approach is person-centered, and I firmly believe each of us has all the answers we need within ourselves, we just need help and support in getting there.

Whether you have experienced loss, depression, anxiety or maybe you are just curious to understand deeper your inner world and your behaviours. I aim to meet you wherever you are in life and to work at a pace that suits and serves you best.

Life is a journey and we can get pushed off course sometimes after turbulent and painful events we experience. This can cause us to doubt ourselves.

Witnessing the impact of therapy on a loved one in distress inspired me to extend that same care and compassion to others. My own experience in therapy has also given me the space to explore how I navigate life’s challenges, deepening my commitment to supporting others.

Throughout my training, I’ve met remarkable individuals who’ve taught me the value of being authentic. As I train to become an integrative therapist, my goal is to offer clients a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel truly seen and heard, meeting them wherever they are on their journey.

I genuinely believe that each person is unique and that with a listening ear and a helping hand, healing becomes possible. We are often stronger than we realize, and with the right support, we can reconnect with that inner strength.

My hope is to guide others on their path to healing and self-discovery.

I have a deep interest in people, how we think, interact, relate to others, and how our challenges and experiences affect and change us. I believe that many of the unwanted patterns we struggle with today once helped us to cope, when given the space to explore them without judgment and with compassion, growth becomes possible.

Currently completing a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy, with an academic background in psychology, my work is informed by an integrative approach. This allows different therapeutic perspectives to be drawn upon and adapted in a way that supports each person’s unique experiences, needs, and pace.

I see therapy as an opportunity to learn about yourself, to grow, to deepen self-awareness, to nurture your gifts and accept and heal from your pain. Through this process, therapy can help reconnect with a more authentic sense of self and support living with greater autonomy. My intention is to offer a warm, supportive space where this exploration can happen safely and at a pace that feels right for each individual.

My intention as a student counsellor/ psychotherapist is to help clients to reconnect to their own resources, resilience, strength and compassion. For me, psychotherapy is a process in which the client can become more familiar with, and develop greater self-awareness of, their own body, feelings, perceptions, beliefs and emotions, and the relationship between these elements. By developing a greater awareness of what is happening in their psychosomatic system, a client can grow in self-understanding and compassion.

I see my role as a facilitator in this process, by making genuine, congruent connections with clients, and by working gently and compassionately with whatever arises in the therapeutic space. I recognise that painful feelings like anxiety, shame, fear and anger are part of the human experience, and as such, they need to be welcomed, acknowledged and honoured. These shadow elements can soften when the client develops a compassionate relationship with them, and that can release the client to reconnect to their own resilience, strength and resources.

The therapy room can be a truly special place, somewhere you feel heard and accepted, without fear of judgment. I strive to create a warm, safe, and confidential environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and ready to explore whatever is on your mind and in your heart.

As I train to become an integrative psychotherapist, I blend different therapeutic approaches, holding this space with openness, respect, and deep care. My focus is on meeting you wherever you are in life and working at a pace that feels right for you.

When we feel truly heard, we can begin to understand ourselves more fully, develop greater self-compassion, and feel empowered to grow and heal. It’s often said that a problem shared is a problem halved, and I hope you leave our sessions feeling lighter, more connected to yourself, and with a renewed sense of possibility.

Life can often feel overwhelming as we navigate the many roles we take on, and it’s all too easy to lose touch with our authentic selves. I deeply appreciate the courage it takes to open up, to be vulnerable, and to seek support during those challenging times.

My belief is that healing is not a destination but an ongoing journey, one that requires both self-compassion and a willingness to explore the unknown parts of ourselves.

My approach is person-centred, meaning that the client sets the pace and direction of the therapeutic process. My focus is on creating a safe and supportive space where the client feels heard, understood, and respected, where we can work together to empower the client to embrace who they are and create space for personal growth and healing. As our therapeutic relationship develops, I may introduce other modalities to further support the client’s journey towards the peace inside.

I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood. My approach is collaborative and client-led, grounded in the belief that each person has within them the resources needed for growth, healing, and meaningful change. As a therapist, my role is to support you in discovering and using those strengths in a way that feels right for you.

Working integratively, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs and experiences. I see counselling as a space for exploration, insight, and the development of self-compassion. Creating a calm and compassionate environment is central to my work, allowing you to explore what’s going on at your own pace, without pressure or expectation.

You’ll be met exactly where you are. My aim is to walk alongside you, helping you feel more empowered as you move toward your personal goals and greater clarity.

Although my studies and the beginning of my professional journey started in the area of finance, life and a financial crisis made me redefine my career options and plans. In 2012 I retrained in the tourism and hospitality sector. I enjoyed being in such a diverse environment and playing an integral part in the plans of people as they marked significant occasions in their lives.

In 2019 I qualified from N.U.I.G. with M.Sc in Strategy , Innovation and People Management. In this course I grounded my experience of leadership, team work and strategy in advanced academic theory.

I am excited to bring my experience, skills and training to Peace Inside. Currently, I am the person behind the Peace Inside social media and website. I’m excited to be part of building a supportive, high-quality space for counselling, psychotherapy and to grow something that truly makes a difference.
